Part One:\u00a0 Increasing your research visibility<\/span>
\nOpen access increases the visibility of publications and, potentially, the number of citations your work receives. This session introduces the different open access options available to authors. It will also introduce\u00a0ScholarBank@NUS<\/em>.\u00a0 NUS Librarians will also be working with you on archiving your publications in\u00a0ScholarBank@NUS<\/em>\u00a0yourself, for its use by the public and future generations.<\/p>\n

Part Two: Assessing your research impacts<\/span>
\nGoogle Scholar<\/em>\u00a0is highly popular amongst graduate students, faculty, and researchers in search of academic literature.\u00a0 It also has come to be used as a bibliometric tool similar to established databases like\u00a0Web of Science<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Scopus<\/em>.\u00a0 However, as Google has remained mostly silent about its inner workings, little is known about this tool. In this session, NUS Librarians will share what is known about\u00a0Google Scholar<\/em>\u00a0and how it affects citation metrics.\u00a0 You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by creating your research profile in Google Scholar.<\/p>\n
