Best known for his contributions to the genre of micro-fiction, Wong Meng Voon, who also writes under the pen name Meng Yi (\u5b5f\u6bc5), became Singapore\u2019s first Chinese-language literature recipient of the Cultural Medallion in 1981. He went on to receive various awards for his literary achievements, including China\u2019s Life-long Achievement for World Chinese Micro-Fiction Award<span class=\"text_exposed_show\"> in 2008.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Written in September 1996, \u201cJiao Huan\u201d, which translates into &#8220;Swap&#8221;, is divided into three sub-stories set in the early, mid- and late 1990s.
