A review of Mrs Anne Wee\u2019s (Dept of Social Work) memoir, A Tiger Remembers: The Way We Were in Singapore, was published in the Straits Times. The title alludes to Mrs Wee\u2019s inauspicious Chinese zodiac and her 66 years of memories as a Singaporean. For the vivacious 90-year-old Wee, her first book is the result of a prolific career and her unapologetic, go-getter lifestyle. Her wit and academic prowess is reflected in this memoir, a nostalgic read for those who have fond memories of Singapore\u2019s yesteryears. It also provides a refreshing insight from her non-native perspective. For the young, Mrs. Wee\u2019s target audience, the book aims to explicate the reasons for Singapore\u2019s success and initial struggles.<\/span><\/p>\n
