Frequently Asked Questions
The Department of Communications and New Media (CNM) offers a series of short courses which last between 1 to 5 days.
CNM has curated three Professional Certificates in Design Thinking, Digital Storytelling, and Media Communication. Each of these Professional Certificate programmes are constituted by a number of short courses. Completion of relevant short courses entitle students to said certificate.
Students must complete and pass the short courses which constitute the Professional Certificate programme.
CNM offers Short Courses periodically all-year round, with an aim to offer each course at least twice a year (subject to demand).

Each Short Course are charged different fees depending on their duration. All Short Courses are entitled to SSG funding.
Please check out the respective courses of your interest for its fees.
Before Application
There is no application fee.
Interested students may apply through the NUS Online Application Portal.
You will be prompted to identify yourself; pick the most appropriate choice within the drop-down list.
You will then be able to find the course(s) of your interest under "Short Course / Modular Course."

After Application
The course will be confirmed at least 1 week before its commencement date.
You will receive an automated email offer which details and instructions for acceptance.
You will receive an automated email offer once the course has been confirmed. You will need to accept or decline by the stipulated deadline.
If you do not accept the offer by the given deadline, you will be assumed to have declined the offer.
Our programme coordinators will be in touch with you.
You will receive an email with an invitation to set up an account with NUS' learning platform, LumiNUS.
You will also be asked to complete a pre-course survey before the first day of the class.
Any request to withdraw from a confirmed course must be received in writing.
The refund policy for withdrawal is as follows:

Completion of short courses
Students who are eligible to receive certificates will be able to download and print e-Certificates via Accredible. Credentials issued on Accredible are for life.
