About NUS Geography

Founded about a century ago, Geography at NUS is a leading Department that consistently ranks among the top 10 in the world. It is also the top Geography Department in Asia, a dynamic region that presents many opportunities and growth potentials, but also demands a keen acumen of issues to face off its challenges.

Here in Singapore, the Department is at the heart of these regional flows and exchanges, and enjoys deep and meaningful connections with like-minded scholars, policymakers and other stakeholders.

The Department consists of a vibrant community of faculty, staff, students and alumni who are dedicated to socially relevant and impactful research as well as furthering geographic knowledge in the world.

GeoAI & Geographic Information Systems
About Us Beta Test students

Students can look forward to an all-rounded education at the Department of Geography.

Our undergraduates enjoy a wide-ranging suite of courses that promote lateral and in-depth thinking, as well as various minor programmes and interdisciplinary courses that combine geographic lenses with other perspectives.

We also host one of two Geographical Societies in Singapore, and an annual Geography Challenge in conjunction with the Ministry of Education.

In addition, our graduate students bring their unique expertise and knowledge from the region and beyond, and contribute to another dimension of what we do.

We welcome you to join us, and be part of a team keen on making a social - and not just technical - impact in the spaces we inhabit.
