Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for the Professional Certificate (PC) in Applied Geographic Information Systems (GIS) 

As NUS transitions to a new online application platform, official registration for the courses will begin from 1 October 2024 onwards. 

In the meantime, we invite you to complete this short form to express your interest and/or to reserve your seat.

We will reach out with the latest information regarding course registration and address any questions you may have. 

This course is SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) funded. Singapore Citizens aged 39 and below and Permanent Residents receive up to 70% course fee funding, while Singapore Citizens aged 40 and above receive up to 90% course fee funding. Additionally, this course can be paid using SkillsFuture credits. 

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) can receive SkillsFuture funding, of up to 90% of the course fees when they sponsor their employees to attend SSG supported courses. For more details, please visit this link.

The Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS) offers additional support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the form of higher course fee subsidies. SMEs can receive SkillsFuture funding, of up to 90% of the course fees when they sponsor their employees to attend SSG-supported courses.

Introduced in 2015, all Singaporeans aged 25 years and above received an opening credit of $500. You can make use of the SkillsFuture Credit to deepen your existing skills or reskill into new areas outside of your current field. 

 From 1 May 2024, Singaporeans aged 40 years and above will receive a SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) top-up to pursue a substantive skills reboot. This is a key component of the SkillsFuture Level-Up Programme.

The software used for this PC will be commonly used, industry-standard GIS software such as ArcGIS (commercial) and QGIS (open source). 

No, learners are free to attend the courses in any order, as there are no prerequisites requiring participants to attend one before the other. 

Learners will be assessed through mini project presentations/demonstrations (individual or group).
