Research Title: The Impact of Science and Technology Park on the Digital Transformation of Firms: A Mixed Method Study
Research Group: Politics, Economies And Space (PEAS)
Thesis Advisor: Assoc Professor Godfrey Yeung
I completed my BA in Economics at the University of Manchester and subsequently pursued an MSc in Local Economic Development at the LSE. During my studies, I developed a strong interest in economic geography, which has significantly shaped my current research trajectory.
My research focuses on various topics within economic geography, including regional policy, regional innovation systems, global value chains (GVCs), and the role of digital technology in regional development. I am particularly interested in how innovation ecosystems influence regional economic performance, as well as how place-based policies can foster sustainable and inclusive growth.
My planned dissertation work examines how science and technology parks (STPs) facilitate the digital transformation of firms, addressing a critical issue highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic. While prior studies focus on internal factors like management and leadership, this study explores the underexamined external innovation environment, particularly STPs, through the Regional Innovation Systems framework. It investigates STPs as hubs for knowledge transfer, innovation support, and partnerships, with a focus on the impact of digital governance.
