Research Title: Unilateral Environmental Regulations: Technological Progress and the International Emissions Landscape
Research Group: Politics, Economies And Space (PEAS)
Thesis Advisor: Prof Dariusz Jacek Wojcik
Before joining NUS, I worked at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), specializing in developing financial mechanisms for climate change mitigation projects in Africa and East Asia. Prior to that, I obtained my Bachelor's degree from Waseda University and a Master's degree from Sciences Po, where I focused on international trade and environmental economics. Throughout this academic and professional journey, I came to realize that climate change is a pressing global challenge that necessitates strong international coordination.
My PhD research explores the dynamics of international environmental regulatory frameworks and their influence on technological progress and emission landscapes across nations. By examining the interplay between policy, finance, and innovation, I aim to contribute to a deeper understanding of how global environmental governance shapes sustainable transitions in different economies.
