Risa Toha

Risa Toha is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Wake Forest University. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor at Yale-NUS College. She completed her undergraduate studies at Princeton University, where she majored in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is a scholar of ethnic politics and political violence in Southeast Asia. Her book, Rioting for Representation: Local Ethnic Mobilization in Democratizing Countries, was published by Cambridge University Press in November 2021. Some of her research has appeared in the British Journal of Political Science, Electoral Studies, Terrorism and Political Violence, among others.
