Bear Braumoeller

Bear F. Braumoeller is Associate Professor of Political Science at the Ohio State University. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago and received both his MA and PhD from the University of Michigan. He previously held faculty positions at Harvard University and the University of Illinois and was a Councilor of the Peace Science Society. His book on The Great Powers and the International System (2014) won the International Studies Association's Book of the Year Award as well as the J. David Singer Book Award, he authored Boolean statistics and qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) packages for Stata and R, and his research in the areas of international security and methods has been published in such leading academic journals as the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, International Organization, Journal of Conflict Resolution, International Studies Quarterly, and Political Analysis. He has previously taught at the ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research.
