Brian M. Pollins is emeritus Associate Professor of Political Science and Research Fellow at the Ohio State University's Mershon Center for International Security Studie. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and and received his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is elected member of the International Institute of Strategic Studies, a former member of the International Studies Association's executive committee, and former President of the international Peace Science Society. His research focuses on statistical methods and international relations, and he has published on global trade flows, capital markets, and armed conflict in such leading academic journals as the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Peace Research, Conflict Management and Peace Science, and Politische Vierteljahresschrift. He has taught Regression Analysis for over 25 years at the ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social and the Global School in Empirical Research Methods at the University of St. Gallen and received several awards for his outstanding and distingished teaching from the Ohio State University.
