Jennifer Jerit

Jennifer Jerit is Professor of Government at Dartmouth College. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and and received both her MA and PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is interested in experimental research at the intersection of public opinion, political psychology, and political communication. Her work on political knowledge, citizens’ attention to politics, and media coverage has won her various awards – Paul Lazarsfeld Award of the American Political Science Association (2006), Article of the Year Award of the International Communication Association (2007), and Erik Erikson and Roberta Sigel Awards of the International Society of Political Psychology (2009, 2010, 2012) – and been widely published in such leading academic journals as the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Journal of Experimental Political Science, Public Opinion Quarterly, and Political Behavior. In addition to experimental methods, she has previously taught courses on political psychology, public opinion, and research design at Florida State University, Southern Illinois University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Stony Brook University.
