Thiago N. Silva is an Assistant Professor at the School of Politics and International Relations (SPIR) and the Deputy Director of the Australian Centre for Federalism at the Australian National University (ANU). He earned his PhD in Political Science from Texas A&M University, United States, specializing in Comparative Politics and Quantitative Methodology. Before joining ANU, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Political Economy at the University of Mannheim, Germany. His research focuses on political institutions, political economy, comparative politics, and quantitative methods. His work has been published in leading journals such as American Political Science Review, the Journal of Politics, European Journal of Political Research, Political Science Research and Methods, and many others. He is also the co-author of a forthcoming book on voters' perceptions of party positions, written with David Fortunato (UCSD) and Laron Williams (University of Missouri), to be published by Cambridge University Press. At ANU, Thiago teaches "Quantitative Research for Political Science," a flagship postgraduate course at SPIR, and "Introduction to R" at the ANU Summer School in Political Analysis.
