Surat Nan Budiman: Mengenang Jasa Ilham Suratman Markasan

A Memorial Lecture in Honour of our literary pioneer and Cultural Medallion recipient, Suratman Markasan

Join us for an afternoon of remembrance, reverence, and celebration of Cultural Medallion recipient Suratman Markasan’s profound influence on literature and culture at “Surat Nan Budiman: Mengenang Jasa Ilham Suratman Markasan,” a tribute event honouring the late literary luminary.

The session includes an appreciation lecture titled “Sang Surat yang Pengayom dan Pengayam” by Dr Azhar Ibrahim, followed by tributes and reflections from friends in the literary arts scene. We will also be celebrating Cikgu Suratman Markasan’s works through poetry readings by local writers and youths from Sahabat Sastera.

The programme will be conducted in Malay and English.
