Wang Gungwu, Suratman Markasan, both 91, are Singapore Literature Prize’s oldest winners

Congratulations to Professor Wang Gungwu (NUS History), Chairman of the NUS East Asian Institute and University Professor who won the Singapore Literature Prize on August 25, 2022!
Home Is Where We Are (NUS Press, 2020), the second part of Prof Wang’s memoirs, topped the English creative non-fiction category. Prof Wang is one of the two oldest winners (both aged 91) of the Singapore Literature Prize.
The Singapore Literature Prize is Singapore’s oldest ongoing literary prize in all four official languages. The winners for this year were announced at a ceremony in Victoria Theatre.
