Recently, Mr CHAN Kok Hoe, who teaches in the Department of Economics at the National University of Singapore, tried to explain why Singapore had experienced large trade surplus in recent years.
Singapore’s population has increased by over 25% in the last decade. Not surprisingly, the tectonic shift in the demographic landscape has unnerved some Singaporeans.
