"Taken on the eve of Hari Raya Puasa at Geylang Serai, this photo shows a dazzling selection of Baju Kebaya, a traditional dress of the Malays and also the Peranakan Chinese or Nyonya community. A version of this style of dress is world-famous as the uniform of the 'Singapore Girl', or female flight attendants of Singapore Airlines. This photo represents both the diverse people of Singapore with their own celebrations, religions and cultural traditions, as well as a symbol of the unity amongst Singaporeans who share some of those traditions and unite under modern iterations of those symbols."
