Classical Chinese Literature and Thought Research Group
Introduction
Our vision is to facilitate and promote the research and study of classical Chinese literature and thought in the Department of Chinese Studies at NUS, providing a platform for current and former faculty members and students to engage in active presentation and discussion of all topics—including authors, literary schools and societies, print culture, history, trends, aesthetics and criticism—related to classical-style prose, poetry, novel, drama as well as folk literature in both imperial and modern periods. Our interest also extends to works produced in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and other overseas Chinese communities.
Our monthly activities include:
- sharing of research findings among faculty members and graduate students
- talks by visiting scholars
- seminars and international conferences
- co-organising academic activities with research institutes/associations
