Ms Ishihara Etsuko joined NUS in October 2011 as a full time instructor, and she is currently a coordinator of External
Language Japanese Programme. She obtained a MA in International Education at Tokoha Gakuen University, Japan.
Prior to joining NUS, she has designed and taught various courses for adult learners, professionals, and tertiary and
university students in Japan, China and Singapore over 19 years. She received CLS Teaching Excellence Awards in 2014 and 2015.

She is an executive committee member of JALTAS (Japanese Language Teachers’ Association, Singapore) and actively
organizes various seminars for Japanese language teachers in Singapore since 2008.
