CCRN Workshop: The Communicative City in the Pandemic Age
The Covid-19 global pandemic has resulted in the reconsideration of the urban landscape as a place to live and work. The Communicative City Research Network invites you to a 3-part workshop to interrogate the redefinition of the communicative city.
This first session investigates "Platforms & Infrastructure", looking to how Covid-19 has transformed the relationship between big tech platforms and cities given their close commercial, logistic, and infrastructural partnerships.
Speakers and topics for the session include:
- Prof Jack Linchuan Qiu & Dr Sophie Ping Sun – Struggles to Embed Food Delivery Platforms in the Communicative City: A Comparative Study of Beijing and Singapore
- Dr Angela Ke Li – Towards Materialist Approaches to Communication Research, Urban Space, and Digital Platforms
- Mr Stephan Hawranick Serra – How to collaboratively research the future of the communicative city in a post-pandemic age
