The study of theatre and performance will engage your creative and critical mind. At NUS Theatre Studies, we believe that the study of theatre: its practices, its operations and its impact on society can equip you with transferrable critical thinking, resource organisation and public call-and-response skills.

The study of English Literature is a study of life. Through the alluring imaginative worlds of profound writers such as Shakespeare, the Brontë sisters, Virginia Woolf, Toni Morrison and J. M. Coetzee, learn to see the world with a broad, flexible, critical and creative mind-set.

The systematic study of human language from different perspectives: As a student of the English Language, you will acquire valuable intellectual skills, such as analytical reasoning, critical thinking, argumentation, and clarity of expression. These will allow you to be critical and creative in thinking, evaluate and manage complex information, construct and deconstruct arguments, and express yourself in speech and writing with clarity, precision and elegance.
