Single Major B.A. in English Literature (Cohort 2020)

Graduation Requirements

To major in English Literature, students need to:

Pass EN1101E An Introduction to Literary Studies. This will be counted towards the Faculty Core or UE requirements.
Pass at least 44 units of EN or EN-recognised courses which include the following:
(1) A minimum of 4 units from the following:
(i) EN2201 Backgrounds to Western Literature and Culture
(ii) EN2202 Critical Reading
(iii) EN2203 Introduction to Film Studies
(iv) EN2205 Late Medieval Literature and Culture
(v) EN2206 Art and Social Justice
(vi) EN2207 Gender and Sexuality in Literature
(vii) EN2275 Writing about Literature
(viii) EN2277 Love’s Word: Reading across Literature and Philosophy
(2) A minimum of 8 units from literature before 1800
(3) A minimum of 24 units at level 3000 or higher
