Graduate Certificates
Reflecting careful consideration of transferable skills and industry relevance, three graduate certificates are offered within Theatre and Performance Studies. Interested students can earn these certificates by completing three associated courses. The certificates can also be stacked toward a full MA.
Admission Criteria
Applicants for the Graduate Certificate coursework programme should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of relevant work experience or practical experience.
- Candidates with other qualifications and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to approval by the faculty.
- Proof of competency in English is not required.

Fees
Fees is payable at SGD$5,886* (inclusive of GST**) per course for AY2024-25 irrespective of nationality. In addition, candidates are also required to pay other miscellaneous student fees as decided by the University.

** GST is charged at a prevailing rate of 9% from year 2024.
Candidature
The maximum candidature period for Graduate Certificate is 36 months. The majority of candidates will likely be able to complete the programme in 1 semester if they read it full-time. Those pursuing it part-time are likely to complete the programme in 2 semesters. International students on student visa must be enrolled in the programme full-time. Students residing in Singapore may enrol for part-time study. Currently, we are only offering our Graduate Certificate programme on a part-time basis.
Continuation and Graduation Requirements
To continue in the Graduate Certificate candidature: if a course is required for the candidature and the minimum grade is not met, a student may repeat:
- the same course once. The improved grade point of the repeat course will replace the weaker one in the GPA computation in the semester in which the successful attempt is made; and
- no more than half of the units requirement for the programme.
To obtain a Graduate Certificate, students must:
- complete and pass 3 courses or 12 units within the categories specified, and
- obtain a minimum GPA of 2.50
Furthering Education
Grades and units earned by candidates in the Graduate Certificate programme or while reading individual graduate courses may be transferred towards fulfilling the requirements of a MA Coursework programme, subject to approval by the faculty. Each course to be transferred should have been read and completed within the last 10 years.
