Life after Literary Studies @ NUS

This is a series of talks for undergraduates majoring in Literature at NUS. The aim is to provide them with a sense of possible career trajectories upon graduating with a Literature degree. Each semester, we will invite some former Literature undergrads to talk about either: 1) their current jobs and how the study of Literature has been applicable or useful, or 2) their preparation toward graduate studies. What these talks seek to demonstrate are the diverse prospects for Literature majors beyond undergraduate studies. For more information, kindly contact A/P Irving Goh at irving.goh@nus.edu.sg

Marc Braydon Anthony (Class of 2022)

March 14

Marc Braydon is an accomplished marketing and communications professional with a keen expertise in digital marketing and public relations across the lifestyle, hospitality, wellness and media industries. An English Literature and Political Science Honours graduate from the National University of Singapore, Marc has since held positions in Move [Repeat] Group (Yoga Movement), The Trapeze Group, Esquire Singapore, and currently serves as Senior Marketing Manager of Vogue Singapore.

 

Muhammad Bin Anwar Bahajjaj (Class of 2023)

March 21

Muhammad Bahajjaj graduated from NUS with a BA (Hons) in English Literature and a double major in Philosophy. Prior to that, he studied film design in Temasek Polytechnic, graduating top of his cohort with a few awards for his student productions. His recent short film on mental health in Singapore, "Miss Miss", premiered at the NUS Arts Festival 2023 and was selected as a finalist in the Mental Health Film Festival 2023. He continued his passion for cinema post-graduation in other ways as well, serving as a film programmer with the 34th edition of the Singapore International Film Festival as coordinator, analyst, and moderator. He is currently pursuing TV Journalism, directing his commitment towards new avenues of media and storytelling.

 

Sheena Koh (Class of 2018)

April 4

Sheena is a Senior Account Manager at Zeno Group, an integrated communications agency. At Zeno, she works with clients in the tech sector, which range from startups to Fortune 500 companies, to craft effective communications strategies and implement media relations approaches. Having started her career in 2018 working with leading consumer brands such as Haagen-Dazs, KFC Singapore, WWF-Singapore and luxury hospitality brands within IHG Hotels & Resorts, including Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok for which she led an award-winning campaign, Sheena possesses a keen nous for creative integrated strategies. Other notable clients include Singapore-founded healthtech unicorn Biofourmis and education group Busy Bees Asia. Sheena backs her ability to identify and craft strategic narratives with her education in English Literature. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (Highest Distinction) from the National University of Singapore.
