2021 | Ms Radhika Bhargava, has been selected as a 2021 Nat Geo Explorer, under the Early Career Grant awarded by The National Geographic Society. The project is titled “Transboundary Governance of Sundarbans in India and Bangladesh”, in which she will be studying ecological and social-political parameters, while specifically looking at shoreline change. |
FELLOWSHIPS
2021 | Ms Chayanika Saxena, has been awarded the Summer Fellowship on Internal Displacement. The 3-month academic fellowship was funded by the UK. |
BEST PAPER AWARD
2024 | Mr Simon Johannes Wellisch (PhD student ) received the Geopolitics Post-Graduate Research Award at the Political Geography Preconference in Belfast for his co-authored paper with a master’s graduate, Sun Yat-Sen University .

2024 | Ms Kang Siyuan (PhD student) was lead author of the paper that won the Excellent Paper Award at the third Workshop of Asian Young Geographers in China.

2015 | Mr Kiran Bhairannavar’s (PhD student) paper was awarded the first place in the 'AAG Sexuality and Space graduate student paper competition. |
WRITING GRANT
2021 | Ms Prerona Das was awarded a writing-up grant by the International Journal of Urban and Regional Research (IJURR) Foundation www.ijurr.org. The grant is awarded to final year PhD students working in the field of urban and regional studies who are in their thesis writing stage. |
