| Brief Introduction | Neil develops desire-based explanations of reasoning and action in Humean Nature, which Oxford University Press published in 2017. His previous work defending the Humean theory of motivation has appeared in Philosophical Review and Noûs. He's also written on philosophy of mind, epistemology, Nietzsche, and romantic relationships with people in other possible worlds. He received his Ph.D from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008 and his B.A. from Harvard University in 2001. His research is available at PhilPapers.
