“Personal Tales in Print”, The Straits Times features well-known FASS Alumni, Daniel Boey & Catherine Lim
October 21, 2014
Two FASS alums, Daniel Boey and Catherine Lim, are featured in a Straits Times article (21 October 2014) on Singaporeans putting their life stories in print.
Celebrated fashion director Daniel Boey graduated with a BA in Geography and English Literature in 1989 and, on 1 November, will launch his autobiography, The Book of Daniel, at the Singapore Writers Festival. There, Boey talks candidly about his life and how the fashion industry has shaped him.
Acclaimed novelist Catherine Lim, however, says she is not ready to write a memoir just yet. Until then, Unhurried Thoughts at My Funeral, published in 2005, and the fresh-off-the-press Roll Out The Champagne, Singapore! are our closest bets. Lim received her PhD in Applied Linguistics from NUS in 1988.
