[3-day Short Course] Agile Team Management for the 21st Century Social Worker
About the Course
The course would introduce the Agile mindset and its relevance to the current complex, everchanging and chaotic social conditions. It will make social workers and social service staff re-evaluate industry and bureaucratic practices within the structure. It will impress upon the participant the need to be Agile - adaptable, flexible as well as the ability to pivot when situations call forth. The focus is to prioritise client centric practice while maintaining the balance between organisation and client outcomes.
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate Servant Leadership Skills.
- Apply Agile mindset in their interactions and dealings with both internal and external clients.
- Be both effective team leaders and team members.
- Will be able to negotiate and formulate win-win working formula for task accomplishments based on goals established by the team.
- Be willing to change the strategy, pivot or discard solutions that are not working for the
specific time frame targeted for review and re-evaluate their action plan and re-strategize to
meet the changing or evolving needs.

As an international business entrepreneur, she has collaborated with local partners to expand business ventures in various countries, including the UK, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, and China. Additionally, she has undertaken independent projects, working alongside partners from Australia, the US, and India.
In addition to her extensive experience in the field, Devaki possesses over 25 years of lecturing experience and is a highly skilled courseware developer. She has trained trainers in Lifeskills modules and has designed more than 100 educational online video resources on Project Management, with a specific emphasis on Agile Methodology. Her impressive background includes serving as the former Director of Admissions & Examinations and Singapore Program Representative at OCU, Oklahoma City, as well as Scholar in Residence at BVU, Storm Lake, IOWA. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of teaching students from diverse
backgrounds, spanning countries such as the USA, Rwanda, and Spain.
Devaki's qualifications are extensive, as she holds certifications as an ACLP certified coach, Adult Associate Educator, and Certified coach in Agile Methodology, Agile Leadership, Agile Team Building, Agile Facilitation, Agile Coaching, and Certified Scrum Master. Furthermore, she possesses certifications in Project Management, utilizing both Waterfall and Agile Technology. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Sociology, with a minor in Psychology, Political Science, and Social Work Internship from NUS, Singapore. She has also earned a Master of Arts in Mass Communications from OCU, USA.
