On 21 February 2019, an award ceremony was held for the grant awardees from the 2018 Grant Call.

The ceremony started with an Opening Address by the Guest-of-Honor, Mr Chew Hock Yong (Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Social and Family Development), followed by a Welcome Address by Mr Keith Chua, Co-Trustee of the Mrs Lee Choon Guan Trust Fund. As the Chair of the Selection Committee, Assoc Prof Choo Hyekyung gave us an overview of the applications received and a brief glimpse into the selection process. The award presentations were by Mr Chew and Mr Chua, to the respective teams.

Assoc Prof Esther Goh, Head, Department of Social Work, presented a token of appreciation to Mr Chew for gracing the ceremony. Next, the teams presented about the research projects, particularly on: the motivation behind their projects, the projected deliverables, and the potential impacts and insights to practice.

Prof Ian Shaw, S R Nathan Professor, Department of Social Work concluded the award ceremony with a Closing Address, reminding the teams of the challenges ahead, and to work together to achieve their goals. A tea reception was held at the end of the award ceremony.
