Udhia Kumar graduated in Social Work and Psychology from the National University of Singapore in 1995. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Solution Focused Brief Therapy from the Brief Therapy Centre, Milwaukee US, as well as a Diploma in Clinical Supervision from Counselling & Care Centre.
Kumar currently practices in a community based social service centre in Singapore and has been doing so for nearly 30 years. He co-chairs the Family Social Work Chapter and is a Member of the Society Against Family Violence. His main area of work involves working with families experiencing financial concerns couple with spousal violence. He teaches on Case Management, Management of Family Violence and Use of Genograms and Other Expressive Tools in Social Work Practice. He has had short teaching stints in Vietnam, China, Hong Kong and Indonesia.
