Isabel de la Fuente Cobas has a PhD in Spanish: Advanced Research in Language and Literature from the University of Salamanca. Her lines of research focus on curricular design, teaching methodologies and ELE for Chinese speakers. She obtained a MA in Applied Linguistics to Spanish Language Teaching at the Antonio de Nebrija University and a Bachelor's Degree in Information Sciences-Journalism at the Complutense University of Madrid.
Prior to joining NUS, she was working as a Spanish Lecturer in China for 11 years, where she has worked at various universities as Renmin University of China, Beijing Language and Culture University and Beijing Union University. Also, she collaborated with the Cervantes Institute in Beijing teaching all levels and preparing students for DELE examination. She has several publications and communications; he is part of ASELE (Association of professors Teaching Spanish as a Second Language around the world) and the RICE (China-Spain researchers’ network).
