Mr Sergio Rodríguez Flores joined NUS after working at the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) where he was in charge of the Spanish Section (Romance Philology) at the Department of Languages and Communication. He designed the Spanish program (2019) and delivered a range of Language, History, Literature, Teaching (ELE) and content modules to future Spanish language teachers.
Previously, he taught and convened several modules in Spanish and French (A1-B2 levels) at the University of Nottingham (Ningbo Campus). Mr Sergio Rodríguez Flores was appointed Deputy Director of the Language Centre, Senior Tutor and Exchange and Study Abroad Coordinator. In 2017 he was elected Global Faculty Ambassador thanks to the agreements he created with 7 Spanish and Latin American Universities and in 2018 he received the Lord Dearing Award in recognition of his Teaching Excellence.
Before gaining the aforementioned international positions, Mr Sergio Rodríguez Flores worked as a teacher in other institutions in China, France, Thailand and Spain at university, secondary schools and language academies settings.
Mr Sergio Rodríguez Flores is also an accredited examiner (A1-C2) of DELE (Spanish official exams) and he coordinated the SIELE Spanish exams at the University of Nottingham (Ningbo Campus). He holds a Language Testing and Classical Test Theory diploma from the University of Lancaster (2019, UK).
