Lim Chong Yah Gold Medal
A sum of $16,000 was donated anonymously in 1994 to the Department of Economics and Statistics to establish the Lim Chong Yah Book Prize for award to the best candidate completing the course for the degree of Master of Social Sciences in Applied Economics/Master of Economics. In 1997, the book prize was converted to the Lim Chong Yah Gold Medal.
- The award of the medal will be made by Board of Graduate Studies on the recommendation of the relevant Board of Examiners.
- No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit. If in any year there are, in the opinion of the Board of Graduate Studies, two or more candidates of equal merit, the Board of Graduate Studies may award such additional prizes as may be appropriate, subject to funds being available for this purpose.
