Launched in 2016, the Global Studies prizes are possible due to the contribution from the Department of Political Science and the Dean’s Office. To sustain these prizes, we request our Alumni and potential donors to the Global Studies Programme to use one of the following forms Individual Donor or Corporate Donor to complete your gift to us.

Global Studies Prizes
Best Global Studies Honours Student (Highest SJAP)
This prestigious prize is awarded to students who have attained the highest Subject Joint Average Point (SJAP)1, a cumulative average point of a student's major courses. This prize recognizes Global Studies honours students who have put in their fullest effort to be at the top of the cohort.
The awarding of this prize has ceased after the 2017/2018 Academic year and has since been replaced with the Best Global Studies Honours Student (Highest GPA).

Best Global Studies Honours Student (Highest GPA)
This prestigious prize is awarded to students who have attained the highest Grade Point Average (GPA)2, a weighted average grade point of all courses taken by a student. Previously known as the Best Global Studies Honours Student (Highest SJAP), this prize recognizes Global Studies honours students who have attained excellency in courses, within and beyond their major.

Best Global Studies Honours Thesis
An honours thesis is a significant and substantial piece of original research performed by students during their final year as a Global Studies major. It requires a considerable amount of time, effort and commitment, in terms on research, to produce an honours thesis. As such, the Best Global Honours Thesis prize aims to recognize these efforts made by dedicated Global Studies students.

Best Global Studies Task Force Contributor/ Presenter
Just like the honours thesis, the Task Force project is an equally integral, challenging and fulfilling part of the Global Studies curriculum. Simulating a government advisory commitee, students will have to work in groups to research, ideate and debate solutions, for real-world policy problems. The Best Global Studies Task Force Contributor/Presenter prize celebrates the efforts of the select few, who have gone above and beyond during the project.

Batul Izzuddin Global Citizen Prize
In 2019, Dr Mustafa Izzuddin donated an expendable gift of S$15,000 to the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) in honour of his mother, Batul Izzuddin (Femisa Fakhrudin) to establish an annual award to encourage and recognise academic excellence and global citizenship in our graduating students.
