The multidisciplinary aspect of Global Studies was what pulled me into this major. The ability to study modules from the different departments allows me to look at the world from multiple perspectives; a skill that I believe is valuable in this constantly changing world. Additionally, being able to read modules from diverse fields of study ensures that I will never get bored because the constant need to understand new ways of approaches is invigorating!
I chose Business and Transnational Cultures as my theme because of my interest in management challenges and strategic issues that businesses of today face amidst rising international competitiveness, increasing employee diversity and boundaryless business organizations. Also, because I had the least knowledge on the East Asian region despite it being a strong market and a culturally-rich territory, I decided to choose East Asia as my region of focus. I have also always found the Korean language to be really fascinating, hence, my choice to study the Korean language to aid my understanding on this beautiful region.
