We were delighted to host Dr. Martin Hess from 4-15th September 2017. During the stay he presented his work during a Centre meeting, discussed ongoing research with a range of Centre members, and gave a well-received seminar entitled ‘Firms versus floors: interrogating labour struggles within and beyond global production networks’. In writing terms he updated an online encyclopaedia entry on GPN research and finalised a collaborative paper on varieties of retail market transitions in Southeast Asia.
