ADMISSION MATTERS
1) When is the intake?
There is one intake (in August) for the Direct Admission Route and two intakes (in August and January) for Stackable Admission Route into the MSW programme.
There are two admission intakes in an academic year for students applying elective courses only.

3) When will I know the outcome of my application?
The outcome of application for the Direct and Stackable Admission Route will be made known by 31 May for semester 1 intake or 30 November for semester 2 intake.
The outcome for elective application will be notified in early July (for semester 1 intake) or December (for semester 2 intake).
4) What are the admission requirements?

5) Is GRE (Graduate Record Examination) a pre-requisite for admission?
Applicants (except graduates from the NUS, NTU, SMU and SUTD) must submit the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test report. The scores are reportable for five years and score reports are valid only if our University receives them directly from Educational Testing Service. 6) What kind of GRE (Graduate Record Examination) scores are acceptable?
For reference, the minimum cut off points was 30% for the quantitative section, 40% for the verbal section and 40% for the writing section for the previous intake.

7) Are there scholarships/study awards available?

8) Are there other fees that are required in addition to the tuition fees for the MSW programme?
For both local and international students,
- There is a non-refundable and non-transferable application fee of S$50 (before GST).
- Apart from tuition fees, there is a Student Services Fee (as published by NUS Registrar’s Office) payable every regular semester.
- Admission to the programme is granted on a competitive basis as places in the programme are limited. A non-refundable and non-transferable acceptance fee of S$5,000 (before GST) – which will be credited towards your tuition fees – is payable upon acceptance of offer.
9) What is the fee per course for the MSW programme after SSG subsidies?

For SSG-subsidised courses, students must pass the overall course OR as per course requirement (inclusive of formative/summative assessment) to be eligible for the subsidy. Further, students are required to complete a post-course survey.

10) What is the tuition fee for the MSW programme?

COURSE-RELATED MATTERS
11) What are the requirements for transferring credits from stackable courses?
For local students only: Grades and Units of stackable courses read may be transferred to the MSW programme subject to approval.
- The stackable courses must not have been used toward the award of another degree programme.
- Each course to be transferred must be read and completed within the last 4 years prior to admission.
- The average Grade Point Average (GPA) of all stackable courses which have not been used towards a degree and are allowed for grade and credit transfer to a MSW programme must be at least 3.0.
12) What is the course coverage for the programme like?
There are a total of 10 courses for the programme (5 elective courses, 3 core courses and 2 capstone courses).
13) What is the course duration?
The maximum candidature is 3 years for full-time study and 4 years for part-time study.
