Introduction:
I am a typical “second generation of Shenzhen”, having grown up hearing about the “Shenzhen miracle”. However, the more I learned and travelled, the more I realized that Shenzhen is a unique place, one that cannot be explained by the success stories of other cities or by any existing theories. This unfulfilled curiosity also extends to my other areas of interest, such as global port cities and maritime commerce.
