Thesis Title: Economy and community in a Chinese Malaysian town: Parit Jawa, Muar (1870s-1990s)

This study is an attempt to investigate the formation and development of the Chinese society in Parit Jawa from 1870s to 1990s under the influence of the world economy so as to expand our knowledge of Chinese communities in small towns in Malaysia.
