Thesis Title: A Study of the Changing Power of the Malacca Chinese Community Leadership Structure in the Tengzhu Era -- Perspective from Temple Network of Malacca and Singapore (1824-1915) (Tentative)

By using the Chinese temple epigraphy in Singapore and Malacca, and collaborating with official archives and other historical materials, this study aims to understand the impact and changes of the power network formed behind the temples in the two places towards the Chinese community in Malacca during the Tengzhu era, and to investigate the process of changing power of its leadership structure.
