Thesis Title: Voices from the Southwest: Articulating Sichuanese Identity in Republican Literature
Thesis Research Area:
This project examines Sichuanese identity in Republican-era literature, aiming to reveal how local experiences, social changes, and cultural exchanges intersect in literary texts. By analyzing novels, essays, poems and periodical writings, it explores how authors represent a sense of regional consciousness and the distinctive character of the borderland. The study also investigates the interaction between Sichuan literature and national cultural discourses, seeking to understand the multiple significances of regional identity in modern Chinese literature.
