Self-Introduction:
I come from Wenzhou, Zhejiang (instead of Shandong Province), and I am a master of the “Universe” mysterious language (the pronunciation of “Wenzhou” in Wenzhou’s dialect is similar to “Universe” in Chinese). City walks, volleyball, outdoor activities, photography, music, movies, and TV shows are all the best for me. My dream is to sojourn around the world and own a bookstore providing freshly squeezed juice and herbal jelly one day.

Thesis Title:Maintaining State-owned: The institutional reform, urban participation, and transnational network of Wenzhou Timber Factory (1978-2008) (tentative)

Thesis Research Area:
My research focuses on how Wenzhou Timber Factory, a consistently state-owned enterprise, not only survived but also surpassed others to become the No. 1 timber agency in 2007 under the strong wave of privatization during the reform and opening up. This research aims to conduct a case study of Wenzhou Timber Factory to explore in depth the complexity and possibility of “State-owned and Private” interrelationship, the position of local enterprises within the transnational circuits of capital, as well as the intertwining mechanisms of the state and capital during the transition period.
