Thesis title: Imitation, Adaptation and Anachronism: Children's Publications in Hong Kong, distributed in Southeast Asia, from the the1940s to 1970s (Tentative)
Children's publications have become a prominent topic within recent studies on the Cultural Cold War. This study argues that the presence of political elements in Hong Kong children's publications, disseminated in Southeast Asian countries after the 1960s, exhibited an inverse relationship with cultural elements. By examining the amalgamation of cultures within these less politically driven publications, we can gain insights into how these cultural influences shaped the worldview of Chinese society's children between the 1940s and 1970s.
