Thesis Title: Revisiting the Maritime History through Nanyang Classical Poetry and Shihua (tentative)

Thesis Research Area:
My research approaches the field from the perspective of classical Nanyang poetics. By integrating insights from maritime history, I incorporate the study of shihua (poetry criticism) into broader discussions of transregional literature and knowledge production. My work examines how Nanyang literati utilized poetic language to respond to imperial experiences, displacement, and trans-maritime exchanges, ultimately recalibrating the subjective position of the Nanyang within the global history of Sinophone literature.
