I am a translator and translation researcher who is particularly interested in how languages, translation and translators contribute to creating a better world by revealing unheard voice, bridging gaps of misunderstanding, and fostering equality and diversity.

Thesis Title: Interrogating the Ethics of Translation Technology in Singapore: A Discursive Approach (tentative)

Thesis Research Area:
Nowadays, the growing technologization of translation has not only challenged long-established ethical principles for translators but has also generated new ethical concerns for a range of stakeholders, particularly around broader issues of fairness, equality, and social justice. This study examines the ethical perspectives and practices of multiple stakeholders regarding translation technology in Singapore and interrogates how the ethics of translation technology is locally shaped and manifested within Singapore’s sociolinguistic realities.
