Self-Introduction:
I am interested in the transformative potential that literary ideas and practices acquire as they travel across media and regions, and especially in the perspectives offered by games as a multilayered and highly flexible medium. As a nostalgic gamer, I also enjoy writing poetry, painting, playing the piano, and exploring different forms of creative practice in my spare time.

Thesis Title: Chinese Video Game Culture in the 1980s and 1990s (tentative)
Thesis Research Area:
My research focuses on videogame culture and media history in modern China and the broader Sinophone world, with particular attention to the significance of videogames’ medium specificity and materiality in the transregional circulation of technology and popular culture during the 1980-1990s. I situate videogames within the social and cultural networks linking South China and Southeast Asia, examine how they connect different regions, actors, and cultural practices, and trace the multiple layers of negotiation and contestation that emerge through these connections.
