Thesis Title: Narrative Adaptation and Cantonese Writing: A Study of Post-War Popular Texts on the Stories of Can Mung Gat (tentative)
Thesis Research Area:
This paper discusses the pulp fiction centered on the stories of Can Mung Gat, which gained popularity in the post-war Republican period and circulated throughout Cantonese cultural spheres worldwide. By undertaking a systematic literary and cultural inquiry into these texts, I aim to contribute to broader debates on Lingnan culture and Cantonese dialect writing.
