Thesis Title: Reinterpret Borderland: The Contemporaneity of Inner Mongolia Literature (tentative)
Thesis Research Area:
Her research examines contemporary Chinese-language writing from Inner Mongolia, with a particular focus on texts emerging at the intersections of Mongol and Han, agrarian and nomadic, local and migrant cultures. She explores how population mobility, shifting territorial boundaries, and linguistic dispersal unsettle conventional binaries are reshaping both individual and collective identities. Moving beyond frameworks of Sinophone literary studies, her work investigates how literary narratives register the erosion of established cultural boundaries and generate new forms of cultural borderland through mobility and transregional encounters. Methodologically, she combines close textual analysis with cultural studies, regional history, and ethnographic materials to examine the complex relationships between literature and geographic, political, and social transformations in Inner Mongolia.
