(FASS and Non-FASS* students)

Please note the following requirements:

Pass at least 24 units of EC-coded or EC-recognised courses, which include the following:
(1) EC1101E Introduction to Economic Analysis OR EC1301 Principles of Economics (See Note 1)
(2) EC2101 Microeconomic Analysis I OR EC2102 Macroeconomic Analysis I (See Note 2)
(3) A maximum of 8 units of EC-recognised courses (double counting) for minor programme.

Note 1: BSP1703, RE1704 are preclusion courses for EC1101E/EC1301.

Students who have passed BSP1703 need not read EC1101E/EC1301. Please note that BSP1703 is not a replacement for EC1101E/EC1301. Students who have passed BSP1703 are required to read any level-2000 or level-3000 EC elective or EC-recognised course to meet the minimum of 24 units of EC-coded or EC-recognised courses for the Minor in Economics programme. The units for BSP1703 is not counted towards the requirements for the Minor in Economics programme.

Students who have passed RE1704 need not read EC1101E/EC1301. RE1704 is an EC-recognised course that can be counted towards the requirements for the Minor in Economics programme.

Note 2: BSP2001,BSE3701 are preclusion courses for EC2102. Students who have passed BSP2001 or BSE3701 need not read EC2102. Please note that BSP2001 or BSE3701 are not a replacement for EC2102. Students who have passed BSP2001 or BSE3701 are required to read any level-2000 or level-3000 EC elective or EC-recognised course to meet the minimum of 24 units of EC-coded or EC-recognised courses for the Minor in Economics programme. The units for BSP2001 or BSE3701 are not counted towards the requirements for the Minor in Economics programme.

Students are required to read EC2101 or EC2102. Students also have the option to read both EC2101 and EC2102.

Note 3: EC-prefixed course exemptions (with 'EXE' grade) cannot be counted towards the EC minor requirements.

Note 4: EC minor is offered to non-FASS students (except Business students who specialised in Business Economics) and to FASS students.

*Business students who specialised in Business Economics are not allowed to graduate with a Minor in Economics.
