Dr. Ong EeCheng was awarded the Annual Teaching Excellence Award (ATEA) for the 2018/2019 academic year. The ATEA is a university-level award, awarded to faculty members who have displayed a high level of commitment to their teaching for the year under review. Dr. Ong is a senior lecturer in the department. She teaches introductory microeconomics, labour economics and the economics of inequality.

In addition, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences awarded Dr. Ong and Mr Chua Yeow Hwee the Faculty Teaching Excellence Award for the 2018/2019 academic year. Mr Chua is an instructor in the department. He teaches quantitative methods for economic analysis and financial accounting for economists
